MERIA Project Impact Analysis has been developed throughout the course of project's lifetime with the goal to evaluate impact of the project MERIA according to its specific objectives. Baseline for the impact analysis was the analysis of teachers’ needs and barriers for IBMT. The identification of learning and teaching requirements has been based on examples of good practice in inquiry-based education and a survey of national documents (curricula, reports) in the partnering countries.
Project impact analysis comprises data, experiences and reports on qualitative analysis on teachers' needs and barriers before and after the implementation of other parts of the project MERIA in partner countries. Impact of the project has been measured in several secondary schools in partner countries.
The analysis has provided better understanding of the differences and similarities among the educational systems in partnering countries, but also an insight into the needs and barriers for teachers’ professional development and clear conclusions that have streamlined the project team in the design of teaching materials and workshop activities. The results show high level of engagement of involved teachers and students' satisfaction with the MERIA scenarios.
